You know as well as I know, there is no set manual on how to live life.
As a result, a lot of people soon find themselves to be trapped in a life that they never wanted to life.
Tons of people lose their desire, ambition, and passion on the road to success.
The reason for this is because they get off track.
They stop doing the things that yield results; instead they settle for being comfortable.
With that said, in order to ensure that you don’t fall victim to such a scenario, below are seven things that you should be constantly practicing.
1. Living a clutter free life
Look around your house, what do you see?
If you’re house is similar to most, you probably see a bunch of stuff taking up a whole lot of room.
A bunch of junk to put it bluntly.
You may see nothing wrong with this, however it’s interesting to note that when psychologists conducted studies on this matter, they discovered that clutter consumes the mind.
The more stuff you have, the more stuff you have in your mind.
Clutter your surroundings and you will clutter your mind.
As a result, it is vital for you to liberate yourself.
Less is truly more.
With that stated, you need to get rid of your junk.
By doing so, you’ll free up your mind which in return will allow you to think clearly.
When I first got introduced to the art of meditation, I thought it was some wacked out shit.
I thought only weirdo’s engaged in meditation, however boy was I wrong.
After giving it a shot and continuing to this day, I have one simple thing to say…
Meditation will change your life.
It will allow you to monitor your thoughts.
It will grant you the privilege of seeing things for what they really are.
It will give you the ability to wield out negative thoughts from the positive.
It will allow you to see the world in the light that you want to see it in.
It will reduce your stresses, worries, and frustrations.
Simply put, it will give you control over your mind.
Let’s face it, success is going to put you to the test. As a result, in order to get over the obstacles in your path, you will need to be in the right mental state.
Meditation will put you in that state as it will allow you to operate from an enlightened frequency.
Twenty minute meditation sessions first thing in the morning seem to work the best so give it a shot.
3. Not giving a fuck
When you’re chasing success, you have to stop giving a fuck.
Don’t listen to anyone and anything (unless it’s constructive criticism).
The only person you should answer to is yourself.
On this journey, you are going to receive a lot of uninvited opinions from people; however you need to IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE.
Don’t let anyone talk you out of your greatness.
In addition, you need to work hard and you need to stop giving a F about the results.
I’ve found this method to work wonders.
Just focus on putting your best foot forward and screw what occurs after you do so.
I’ve discovered that when you stop caring about the results, you actually experience the results that you desire.
4. Saying NO to people
We all know a person who says YES to everyone.
We call those people pushovers.
Pushovers never succeed.
You are not a robot so stop acting like one.
Take back your control.
A boy gives away his time foolishly, a man guards his time with care.
There is nothing more liberating than telling someone NO.
Speak your mind and do what you desire. No one can make you do anything. Take back your power.
5. Doing great work
“I like to do great work. It could take one day or ten years, it doesn’t matter.” – Jay Z
If I could only give one success tip, it would be the following…
Practice doing great work and forget about everything else.
Great work alone will take you to places that you thought you would never reach.
Put your head down and be great.
6. Being present
Are you present right now?
Are you reading these words with your full mental capabilities or are you reading, but thinking about something else at the same time?
Most folks are never present.
They always have something else in the back of their mind.
It’s OK to think about tomorrow, however practice living in the now. If you don’t, you’re going to wake up one day and say, “Damn, where the hell did all my time go?”
Of course, after you have that thought, you’ll say some stupid shit like, “Damn, TIME FLIES.”
But in reality, time does not fly. Time only flies if you are not present in the moment before you. If you never enjoy the moment at hand, of course you’re going to look back on your life and say, “shit…the time just flew by.”
But on the other hand, if you are fully present, you possess control over every second which in return slows down the passage of time.
7. Enjoying your current reality
When we are pursuing success, we are always chasing our ideal life.
We are always running after our dreams.
We are always sacrificing our todays for our tomorrows…and we should, if we want to succeed.
However, don’t forget to enjoy what you currently have.
Take time out and enjoy the company around you.
Work hard, play hard.
Simply put, practice living life.
If you can do this one simple thing, you’ll go on to live life on a level that most cannot even fathom.
