You know it and I know it, the world can be a very mean and rough place. Let’s face it, there are some complete assholes on this earth and you are bound to run into some on your road to success. Be that as it may, you cannot let anyone get in between you and success. Never let someone else break you. You’re an individual, you’re a man or a woman, others words are just opinions, they should never make or break you.

To hell with them.

However, it’s important to realize that the world will in fact try to break you down. A lot of people will try to keep you away from success.

Every single day the world destroys somebody’s dream. When I say the WORLD, I’m referring to certain people who make up this world such as the doubters, the naysayers and the cowards.

So with that stated, below are seven things you should never let the world take from you.

1. Your dreams

Do you know how many dreams are killed on a daily?

Thousands and thousands.

Listen to the masses and they will tell you how dumb your dream is, how you will never achieve it, how you’re just wasting your time. Give in and you have let the world take from you one of the great beauties of life, dreams.

You cannot give in to this talk. Never let someone else tell you what you can and can’t do. They aren’t you. They don’t know what you’re capable of. Someone else’s opinion is not a reflection of your abilities so stop letting others control your fate.

I have a simple rule that I recommend you follow…

If other people don’t laugh at your dreams, they’re not big enough.

Instead of being afraid of the world, take it to the world. Give em hell. The way you do that is by dreaming BIG and actually striving to achieve your big dreams. That’ll teach them to never doubt you again.

2. Your hunger to succeed

How many times have you let the words of someone else kill your motivation to succeed?

For instance, say you started an exercise regime in hopes of cutting weight. At first, you’re motivated as hell. But in due time, you’re bound to meet people who make some negative remarks such as, “You not gonna lose all that weight.” Or call you rude names such as “fatty.”

If you’re like most, when you hear these words, you probably lose motivation. You lose your hunger to succeed and you become frustrated and sad.

That’s not the right approach.

I’m going to need you to turn this around. Instead of losing motivation every time this happens, I want you to increase your hunger to succeed.

Take on the, ILL SHOW YOU attitude.

Don’t let them kill your motivation. They’re just trying to belittle you so you won’t achieve what they never could. If you stop, their job is done so don’t stop.

3. Your passion

Keep your love alive. Love what you do and be great at it.

Someone else’s viewpoints regarding your craft should not influence your own perceptions.

Keep the flame burning within you and if you love it, LOVE IT.

Who cares about what Tom, Dick, and Harry think.

This isn’t their life, this is your life.

For instance, a lot of dudes get slack for wanting to be male nurses. If that’s your dream, don’t let outside voices influence your decisions. If that’s what you’re passionate about, by all means become a nurse. Who gives a shit about what others think or say.

Be you.

4. Your guts

Don’t let others talk you out of taking risks.

Everything that is worth having comes from making bold moves.

A lot of cowards will feed you a bunch of BS in an attempt to make you a coward too.

You see people tend to feel threatened when someone else aims to do something that they can’t. Hence, they try to talk you out of it.

You can’t afford to become a coward. You’re a real one, you’re a dream chaser. Dream chasers don’t shy away from big daunting tasks; instead dream chasers own the moment and raise hell.

5. Your essence

Be you, the real you.

Do you know how many folks are walking around as a copy? MILLIONS.

These folks have let the world not only break them, but change them as well.

They have let society’s expectations misguide them.

You will never be happy until you begin to act as you were intended to be.

Stay true to who you are. Don’t let them crack you.

6. Your positive beliefs

If you think you’re the greatest to do it, you’re the greatest to do it. It doesn’t matter what Marry or Ted thinks, the only thing that matters is what you believe.

Don’t lose your positive beliefs.

Belief is essential on this road to success.

The moment you stop believing is the moment you lose your opportunity to see success.

7. Your reason to be alive

Why do you wake up in the morning?

What motivates you?

What gives you hope?

What keeps your heart from giving out?

Whatever your answers may be, don’t let the world take that from you.

If you do, you’ll still be alive and well, but something will have died within you and you’ll never be the same again.

So the bottom line is…

In a world full of fakes and flaws, you need to remain an individual.

The term “man” is not granted, it is earned. You don’t become a man through age; you become a man through action. If you analyze the world, it won’t take you long to realize that there are a bunch of very old BOYS (in their 30’s, 40’s 50’s) running around this earth. If you’re going to act like a boy, you’re going to be labelled a boy. Age doesn’t mean a damn thing.

On this road to success, if you want to become successful, you have to man the hell up. You can’t approach the pursuit of success as a boy and expect to be victorious. A boy is fragile and weak; a man is strong and assertive.

So with that stated, below are ten things every man should do/be.

1. A provider for those he loves

You’re the man, you’re the head honcho. You got people who look up to you and you got people you need to provide for. Men don’t make excuses; men get down and get to business. Stop slithering around and get to work.

Times have changed and women have become bread winners too, but that’s not an excuse for you to diminish your efforts. You’re the one people look up to in times of uncertainty…so the bottom line is you have to fend for those you love.

Wake up with a purpose in your mind. Can you see your wife, kids, mother, sister, whoever go without the joys which make life great? I bet not. So it’s your job to not only transform your life, but their life as well.

2. A fighter

You’re a dude so act like one. You’re not a female, you’re a man. So don’t get discouraged when you’re up against obstacles.

On your path to success, you’re going to see it all. The highs and the lows. The smiles and the frowns. You’re not a coward, so you have to rise above and defeat whatever is in your way.

Either you act like a man or you act like a bitch when times get hard. The way you approach the tough days says a lot about not only your character, but your chances of seeing success as well.

3. Chase your dreams

If you don’t chase your dreams, you are letting life beat you.

How are you going to sit there and let life beat you?

Most men cheer on their favorite sports team game in and game out and don’t want them to lose, but meanwhile they’re losing the biggest game of their life by not pursuing their dreams.

If you belong in the above category, open your eyes and see the world for what it is really is.

It’s a game.

It’s a sport.

You’re the main player; your objective is to pursue your dream. It doesn’t matter what’s in your way, if you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way.

4. Find the good in the bad

You’re the captain of not only your ship, but the ship of many passengers who look up to you.

As a result, you have to keep your cool in the most difficult of times.

There’s going to be days when things seem VERY BAD. But you have to keep your composure.

Be calm. Be cool. Be collective.

5. Be dominant

Don’t be afraid to act like a man. It seems as if society has conditioned us to suppress our needs and desires, do away with this BS layering and be true to who you are, whatever that means to you.

Be bold and be dominant. It’s the only way to make your dreams a reality.

Don’t take NO for an answer. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Don’t shy away from a challenge, approach it head on instead.

6. Go on adventures

Adventures make life fun and thrilling. So don’t get sucked up in the predicament of living a dull and boring life.

Remember, you create your life. You can spice it up with excitement anytime you feel like it.

As a man, it’s your job to create a fantastic life. Go down a winner, not a loser. Death is common to us all, hence it’s the way we spend our time on earth which determines if we are labelled a winner or a loser.

7. Lift weights

Look the part and get your health in check.

What good is success if you’re not here to enjoy it?

A lot of the diseases in the world can be prevented by eating good and exercising. Yes, I know you already knew that, but it’s time for you to ACT like you know it.

8. A learner

As men, it’s in our blood to think we know it all.

I mean, just look at the way we treat instruction manuals…DON’T NEED EM.

But it’s vital you open your mind. Become a lifelong learner. Study the greats and you shall become great yourself.

Find what makes someone else successful and implement those traits in yourself.

9. Be fearless

Approach life like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, be fearless.

For the most part your fears are imaginary; they just exist in your mind.

So be like Kanye West…

“I don’t live in fear; I’m too out of my mind.”

Your fears and your worries will keep you down and out. They will keep you from seeing any form of success. So don’t fall victim to fears.

Fear is everywhere. Whether it’s fear that arises when it comes time to chase your dreams or fear when it comes time to approach a woman. The best way to deal with fear is by abiding by the following motto, feel the fear BUT do it anyways.

As a man, it’s your job to take the world by storm. So don’t be scared of the word, instead embrace it and take it over.

The world is yours…only for a limited time, however. So do with it what you please.

10. Never rely on someone else

This one is huge and if you were to ask me what one thing makes a man, a man…it’d be this point…

A real man is self reliant.

He doesn’t need anything from anyone. A lot of people rely on others, whether that’s for money or a job. I mean sure, the world needs 9-5 employees, but times sure are changing. Don’t get too comfy in your job. At any moment you can be kicked to the curb so learn to be self reliant.

Start your own business. Follow your own passion. Earn your own money.

I guess what I’m trying to say is…

Don’t be a follower, be a leader.

You got the heart of a lion within you. You got everything you need to succeed so don’t sweat the small things and instead, strike out in this world on your own.

Stand on your own feet. By doing so, you’ll become the ultimate man.

Movies are great. Not only do they draw us in, but they expose us to new possibilities. Sure, movies are fictional, but some movies truly shed light on the principles one needs in order to make it in this world.

So with that said, below are five speeches that I truly love (in no particular order).

1. Powerful Beyond Measure (From Coach Carter)

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

2. Pre Game Speech (From The Miracle)

“Great moments… are born from great opportunity. And that’s what you have here, tonight, boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight. One game. If we played ’em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It’s over. I’m sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw ’em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it.”

3. It Is Not This Day (From Lord of the Rings)

“Men of Rohan! Of Gondor! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come, when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship. An hour of wolves, and shattered shields, when the Age of men comes crashing down. But it is not this day, this day, we fight!”

4. How Hard You Can Get Hit (From Rocky Balboa)

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”

5. Seize The Day (From Dead Poets Society)

“They’re not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they’re destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? – – Carpe – – hear it? – – Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.”

Albert Einstein. What more needs to be said? Not much if you ask me. So without further ado, let’s explore some of Albert’s most inspirational words.

1. “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”

If you have a mindset that is out of the ordinary, you will receive a lot of resistance from the mediocre. The average will try to get you off the road to success. It doesn’t matter what you are doing. When you make a decision to escape mediocrity and reach for something much greater, the average will not like this…at all.

Your success will be a threat to them and in return bring out their insecurities. As a result, you are bound to receive friction from the mediocre.

The key is to be prepared. A lot of people think that everyone is going to support their endeavors, however this is rarely the case. Instead when these people are met with opposition, they get frightened and soon grow weary.

In my opinion, this is one of the great tests those that want to escape mediocrity have to face.

If you want your life to be anything but average, you first have to take on and beat the average. The way you go about accomplishing this is by not letting their words get you down. Don’t let what they have to say get in between you and your dreams.

If you can keep your unique mindset intact and uninfluenced by the masses, you will blossom.

This world fears change. They fear anything that is out of the ordinary. As a result, you will be out of the ordinary when you aim to do something that the average view to be impossible. Hence, their job is to get you to quit.

Don’t let them break you.

2. “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

Opportunities don’t come gift wrapped. Instead they come in the middle of the storm. However, people are usually so traumatized that they don’t see the opportunity that lies right in front of them.

Whether it be starting businesses in the recession or finding the courage to change professions when you have hit rock bottom, opportunities are always present. You just have to keep your eyes open.

Never turn your brain off.

Be open minded and question everything.

By questioning everything you’ll build up the ability to spot and exploit opportunities.

When things aren’t going right, that is when you need to wake up and begin to see things for what they really are because you are bound to find opportunities as a result.

3. “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

By developing a deep and enriched love for life, you will increase your odds of succeeding.

Every day you need to wake up and be thankful for being able to live in such a prosperous time.

You have to wake up excited and energetic. Have faith in the world.

Life is amazing. Life is one of the greatest if not greatest creations. Cherish it. Embrace life.

Live with passion. Let your energy and your spirit be infectious.

4. “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”

Everyone sees the world in a different light. As a result, perception is reality.

Two people can be looking at the same thing, however they will perceive the exact same thing in different ways and hence as a result their reality will differ.

For instance, say both parties have two kids. One party might take this as if this means that they have to let their dreams die because now they have to devote their full attention to their children. On the other hand, the other party might see the same situation in a different way. They might see the children to be a powerful blessing because the kids will now serve as an intense level of motivation in order to make ones dreams come true not only for oneself, but for the kids as well.

As a result, both parties will take different actions.

Reality is just an illusion. When you realize this, you can influence your life in whichever way you please.

You have to realize that you are the one who is control of the perceptions you make. Hence, perceive accordingly to the reality you want to create.

You control everything.

5. “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”

Be curious…about everything. By doing so, you’ll find yourself not only finding new opportunities, but your open mind will be sharp as ever and in return will really aid you in every endeavor you undertake.

Curiosity is something the average person let’s die once they reach adulthood.

Remember when you were a child, you were curious about EVERYTHING.

This is the mentality you need to find within yourself once again.

Be curios. By being curious you’ll open up endless amounts of doors and will truly live one hell of a life.

Become a critical thinker.

If you are just going along with the herd and refuse to think and question something, you are equivalent in many ways to someone who is dead.

A lot of the successful entrepreneurs you see today were and still remain curious as hell.

Their curiously led them to ideas that are now worth millions if not billions of dollars.

Don’t close the door to your mind instead open it and embrace the world.

6. “Your imagination is your preview to life’s coming attractions.”

In my opinion and in the opinion of most, imagination is way more powerful than education.

Use your imagination to attract what it is you desire.

Construct a vision of what you want your life to be like and replay this short clip in your mind on a daily basis.

We humans tend to not use our imagination to its full ability. Again like with curiosity, we tend to ignore our imagination as we grow older, but the true genius holds onto their imagination with a tight grip because like Albert said, it is our preview to life’s coming attractions.

7. “One cannot alter a condition with the same mindset that created it in the first place.”

The quote above is very powerful.

In order to make a change in your life, you first have to change your mindset. If you don’t change your thinking, you are destined to remain in the same position. If you truly think about it, you’ll understand why.

As a result, when things aren’t working for you or when you want a change, you need to alter your mentality.

The fool thinks the same way and does the same thing and expects a different result.

Whereas the genius takes time to change his/her thinking which contributes to different actions which in return translates into the results that he/she desires.

In this post I will be sharing what I believe are the tips that will result in success.

If you examine the successful, you will realize that they all share these characteristics. Some of these tips are going to further reinforce what you already know and some are going to be out of the ordinary.

Your job is to evaluate your own life and find out which traits you possess and which traits you need to acquire.

Top 7 Tips For Success

1. Expand your mind and dream big

You can only accomplish what you set your mind on. Read that again and truly think about it.

Your mind is like a GPS. Once you punch in your destination, the GPS system will direct you to where you want to go. It won’t take you anywhere else, but to your destination. It’ll overcome closed roads, blocked streets and everything else in order to get you to where you need to be.

The same can be said about your mind.

Your mind only achieves things that it is locked onto.

Hence you can truly use this to your advantage. Use your mind to dream big. After you do so, lock into these big dreams and dedicate your mind to create these dreams.

Form a vision that replays in your mind over and over again.

I cannot stress how important it is for you to do this. You need to stop with the small dreams.

Dare to dream of the unthinkable, the impossible, the improbable. It doesn’t matter who you are. You can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Alongside dreaming big, you need to expand your mind.

You expand your mind by enriching it with knowledge. Not just random knowledge, knowledge that results in change. Knowledge that makes a difference.

I advise that you set a goal to knock off one book a week for three months straight. The book has to be nonfiction of course and has to be something that you can use.

If you’re a salesman/woman, pick up a sales book.

If you’re a lawyer, pick up a book on persuasion and influence.

It’s your job to expand your mind and to plant the necessary seeds that will lead to success.

2. Work harder than the next man/woman

Hard work is the link that will transform your dreams into reality. You can sit there all day and all night engaged in wishful thinking and you’ll never reach success. However, if you get up and bust your ass day in and day out, you will succeed sooner or later.

Success never comes without hard work.

A lot of people know this in the back of their mind however they still aren’t engaged in hard work. They are still looking for the quick solution that will transform their vision into reality. Well I hate to break it to you, but there is no quick solution.

You have to put your nose to the grindstone and work like a madman if you want to achieve your dreams. There is no escaping this.

If you’re not willing to do the work, do yourself a favor and stop reading right here. The rest of the information in this article will do you no good.

Under this tip, I also want to include the notion of being self disciplined and being self reliant.  I believe these two tips go hand in hand with being a hard worker. Majority of the people that have a great work ethic are self disciplined and they are also self reliant. They push themselves and they do for themselves.

It’s very hard to succeed if you are depending on others. The reason for this is simple. Others will always take actions that benefit them instead of you. This is human nature.

With that stated, you need to depend on yourself.

If you want something done, do it yourself.

3. Use your time wisely

Time management is one of the greatest skills that you can possess.

You, Bill Gates, LeBron James, all have twenty four hours in a day. It doesn’t matter how poor you are or how rich you are, we all have twenty four hours.

Your level of success is determined by your use of these hours.

Replace idle time with work that is designed to move you towards your goals.

If I were to analyze your day and see how you spend your twenty four hours, I could tell you in a heartbeat what your future is going to look like.

Most people spend a large chunk of their twenty four hours sleeping and yet they still say they want to succeed. I don’t understand the logic in this. You have to use your time wisely.

Time is the ultimate asset. We are all dying. Each day is bringing us closer and closer to death. Hence our time is very limited. Put your time to use and stop messing around.

If you truly want to make your dreams a reality, you better use those twenty four hours constructively.

I advise you to monitor your daily activities and to take note on where you spend your hours.

A lot of you will realize that they need to make some changes.

Better to know and change than to be ignorant. So get off your ass and use your time wisely.

The new episode of your favorite TV show can wait. Spend your time on meaningful stuff.

4. Don’t take “NO” for an answer

On the path to your dreams, you will come into contact with people that will close the door on you when you are in need of help.

Your job is to not take NO for an answer. Your job is to try every door out there. Don’t stop.

A lot of people throw in the towel, don’t be one of them.

Success isn’t going to be no walk in the park. You know this. So why get discouraged when you are bombarded with a bunch of NO’s?

Keep going…even if you don’t feel like it.

5. Persevere

This tip goes hand in hand with the previous one.

Failure is going to get all of us.

We are all going to fail in one way or another, however what separates the successful from the unsuccessful is the successful keep going.

The successful become more motivated to succeed as a result of failing whereas for the mediocre the opposite ensues.

6. Don’t be afraid to step on a few toes

People tend to play it safe. They don’t want to offend anyone and hence they just live life aimlessly trying to please every person they meet. Don’t be this person.

Instead be the person that is driven to achieve his/her goals.

Now, I’m not saying that you have to be a total prick or anything. What I’m saying is stop trying to please everyone. Sometimes people are going to get their feelings hurt as a result of the actions that you take. You can’t live your life worrying about others. You need to worry about yourself.

7. Be selfish

Yes, you read that correctly.

I am a fond believer in being selfish when you are chasing success.

Think about it.

You only got twenty hours in a day, you only got so many days on this planet, you only got so much energy, are you going to invest those resources on yourself or on somebody else?

The answer to this question determines your level of success in life.

It’s very hard to soar to the top of the world by being unselfish. I wish this was the case, but it’s not. In fact it wouldn’t really make sense if this was the case.

There is nothing wrong with being selfish. Society has made people feel guilty for being selfish. However being selfish is essential if you are to create your dream life.

Don’t be ashamed.

The key however is to become unselfish once you have achieved your dreams. Don’t lose yourself in the process of chasing success.

After you have reached success you’ll be in a position of power to make a difference in other peoples lives and you should truly use this power to enrich the lives of those around you.

Those are my seven tips for success. Use them if you please. Most of these can be acquired quite easily. You just need self discipline.

Kendrick Lamar has had quite the journey. His story is truly inspiring. He went from being surrounded by constant negativity/danger in Compton, California to being one of the greatest rappers out in today’s day and age.

His story further goes to show that anything is possible.

If you hold on to your vision, never lose sight of what you are trying to do and keep working each and everyday, one day your dream will be before you. Success will be in your hands and the world will be yours.

This is the day we all hope and pray for.

This is the day that gives our life purpose and meaning.

There is no greater feeling than the feeling you get when you have achieved your life’s greatest ambition.

So your sole job is to make sure that you live to see this day and the way to make that happen is by not letting another day go to waste. Cut the distractions out of your life and determine what it will take for you to make your dreams a reality.

You know where you stand today and where you want to be so all you have to do is fill in the missing link.

What’s going to get you from where you are today to where you want to be?

Come up with your answers and make it happen.

Now lets get to the heart of this article and examine some wise words from Kendrick.

Kendrick Lamar’s 3 Tips For Success

1. People are going to try to pull you down, make sure you keep climbing

“The limit is the sky and I live on a cloud. I recognize my nemesis are going to try to put a finish to my shine.”

Lets face it. Most people in the world will rather see you fail than succeed.

Even your loved ones. Your success will probably bring forth their insecurities and they fear this so they’ll try to do things that will make it harder for you to succeed. It’s not a conscious effort on their part, it’s just human nature I suppose.

If people failed to achieve their dreams, they will become threatened of your success so they’ll do everything in their power to prevent you from achieving your dreams.

You need to understand this and in return realize that success is all dependent on you.

You don’t need anyone.

You got yourself and you got your greatest weapon which is your mind so make it happen.

You have everything you need to succeed within you.

Don’t let others words distract you from your end goal. Don’t let their thoughts and opinions take you off the road to success.

2. Don’t base what you’re going to be off of what everybody else is, choose your own path

“I don’t want to be a killer, I want to be a (Bill) Gates.”

It’s no secret that Kendrick’s hometown, Compton is a very dangerous place. In fact it’s one of the dangerous cities in the USA. Filled with tons and tons of violence.

Murder is very ordinary and hence Kendrick saw all of this growing up.

Danger, poverty, gang violence were Kendrick’s environment, however he didn’t let his surrounding determine where he could and couldn’t go when it came to his future. A lot of people would examine their environment and come to the conclusion that they can’t achieve a certain dream because it’s too far fetched.

Don’t fall victim to such a predicament.

Don’t let your environment determine where you go in life.

You can truly go from rags to riches. It has happened time and time again so aim for the sky. You only got one shot, one chance. Make sure your life isn’t wasted.

Give your life meaning. Don’t be just another person who is soon forgotten after they take their last breath.

3. Choose the people in your life with care

“I’m trying to learn something new, I’m trying to surround myself with people that inspire me or at least inquire similar desires.”

The people in your life will either bring you down or add value to your life and in return make you that much better. Therefore it’s vital that you choose the right type of people.

The people in your life truly determine it all. They determine if you will succeed or if you will fail. Make sure you have positive energy flowing all around and not negative. It’s ten times harder to succeed in life when all this negative energy is pushing you down.

However on the flip side, it’s ten times easier to achieve success if your life is filled with positivity so with that said, be positive and go on and be great.

Make sure that people remember your name when you are dead and gone. Do your thing and leave your legacy. Let your presence be felt and your voice be heard. Become a somebody.

Top 7 Martin Luther King Quotes

1. “Faith is taking the first step when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

Let me fill you in on a secret. The people that possess faith, will win. No matter what. Action is detrimental for success. Your ability to take action and put yourself out there is going to determine if you succeed in life.

You have to be willing to begin. A lot of people aim to become fully prepared prior to taking action, however you can never be fully prepared. I know it’s scary, but it’s never as bad as it seems. Sometimes you just have to dive in, head first. You’ll learn along the way,

So with that said, if you haven’t taken the first step towards your dream yet, now is the time. Just begin.

You’re only doing yourself a disservice by not beginning. Time is ticking. Chop, chop.

2. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moment of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

The height of your success in life is going to be determined by your reaction to failure and obstacles. If you can remain calm and continue to push without getting discouraged, you are going to make it.

Failure is a test. Don’t let it break you. You have to fail before you can succeed. View it as a learning process and continue.

The only thing we got in life is our dreams. Once you give up on your dreams, you’re just waiting to die.

Keep the flame within you burning. Don’t let it die.

3. “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of humanity.”

If you truly want to become great and want to be somebody who people remember for centuries on end, you have to concern yourself with humanity. You have to change the world in some shape or form.

The best way to do this is by extending your reach. The way you go about changing the world is by changing the lives of people.

Serve the people. Serve the masses.

You should aim to help as many people as you can through your profession.

For instance, Steve Jobs created a legacy by doing just that. He used Apple as a means to change the world. His products reached the hands of millions. From a company that started in his garage to a company that is regarded as one of the best companies of our time. Steve Jobs simply extended his reach.

4. “Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.”

Lets face it, the road to success is an uphill battle. It’s not going to be easy.

With that stated, you have to be prepared to struggle. You have to be prepared to fail. If you can’t deal with these circumstances, you are not fit to succeed.

This is why you should never get discouraged with you fail at something because failure is all apart of struggle and struggle is apart of the process.

5. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.”

Always be true to yourself. Never bite your tongue for no one. If you feel a certain way, let it be known. Honesty is a very beneficial trait and it will earn you respect.

By being direct and honest with people, you will become a better people person. No one likes a yes man/woman.

Usually the people that are honest are also the ones that possess the most confidence. Therefore increase your honesty if you want to increase your confidence level.

6. “Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better.”

The odds don’t mean a thing. Don’t ever let anybody talk you out of your dreams. Facts, odds, stories, are all irrelevant. To hell with them.

Who gives a hoot if 90% of businesses fail in the first year, if you want to start a business, you go do it. Screw the odds.

If you’re worrying about the odds, you will never amount to anything.

7. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?”

Your legacy is going to be determined by what you do for others. Remember that. If you want to live on after your last breath, you have to make an impact in the lives of others.

Do you ever wonder if you have what it takes to succeed? If you’re like most people you probably wonder about this question all the time. Contemplating if you have the necessary traits that success deems to be of importance is something we all do.

A lot of the time we don’t really know if we have what it takes to succeed. Instead we just assume. For some the assumptions made are accurate, whereas for others they couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Therefore the point of this article is for you to get a clear picture regarding your ability to succeed in life.

If you seem to possess most of the indicators of success below, you are capable of succeeding in any endeavor. However, if you lack majority of the indicators, it’s time to make some changes in your life.

The Six Indicators Of Success

1. Your Work Ethic

If your work ethic is second to none, check this off the list. You have mastered this stage. This is one of the main indicators of success. You have to work, you have to work hard. Nothing surprising about this. This is one of the main indicators that separates the successful from the unsuccessful. Simply put, the successful are willing to put in the work whereas the unsuccessful are willing to make excuses.

Work, work, work.

Work hard. You have to outwork the competition. You have to be willing to put in the extra hours.

The reason why a lot of people don’t put in enough work is because the rewards are usually down the line. Therefore they don’t possess the faith they need. Hence they simply don’t work hard. On the other hand, the successful believe. They know that their performance is linked to rewards so they love to work.

So be real with yourself. Are you working hard or are you hardly working? More importantly, are you working hard on the right things?

2. The People You Surround Yourself With

Your level of success is directly related to the quality of people you spend the most time with. You don’t see the successful hanging out with unsuccessful people. The reason for this is the habits of those we surround ourselves with begin to rub off. Hence the successful know this and they exploit this. They simply surround themselves with the best because this leads to them becoming better.

So ask yourself, are the people you are hanging out with the right people? This is another huge indicator of success. I cannot stress how important it is to be honest in this stage.

Change might just be required.

3. Your Thoughts

Your mind is your greatest weapon or your worse enemy, so which one is it?

Success requires you to be a strong minded individual. It’s apparent that you have to be positive.

You cannot be easily swayed. Once you lock your mind on your dreams, you can’t let anybody talk you out of achieving them. You have to commit yourself.

4. Your Reaction To Failure

Do you get up and try again or do you stop?

5. How You Deal With Fear

Fear cripples some and makes others. If you simply feel fear, but still take action, you are on the road to success. On the other hand, if you let fear stop you, you won’t be making much progress.

6. Sacrifices

Sacrifices are essential for success. In fact without sacrifices you cannot achieve much. So are you wasting your precious time out partying or are you mastering your craft? Are you focused on the short term or the long term? Are you letting instant gratification blind you?

It’s a must that you make sacrifices.

You have to learn how to say “no.”

Well those are the six indicators of success. How many do you possess? After you have come up with your answer, the key is to acquire the ones you don’t currently possess.

If you have all six, congratulations, you have what it takes to succeed.

If you don’t, ACQUIRE THEM.

If you’re a football fan, you have without a doubt heard about Brett Favre. Brett was one hell of a quarterback. What he accomplished on the field was extraordinary. More specifically even when people counted him out towards the latter stages of his career he still managed to perform at an exceptional level. Brett truly built the habit of excellence so every time he stepped foot on the field he couldn’t help, but be excellent. This is where you need to be. You need to get accustomed to busting your ass and performing at a high level.

If you continuously perform at a high level day in and day out not only will you build up the habit of excellent, but you will become successful. It’s simple. When you’re performing at a high level, you are beating out the competition nine times out of ten.

So that’s an additional tip that you should apply to your life.

If you’re going to do something make sure you’re doing it at a high level.

Now lets explore some more tips.

Brett Favre’s Top 3 Tips For Success

1. Focus On Today, Not Tomorrow

“You’re never guaranteed about next year. People ask what you think of next season, you have to seize the opportunities when they’re in front of you.”

The tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday is here today. Take advantage. Don’t spend today worrying about tomorrow or don’t spend this year worrying about next year. This is truly pointless. Not only do you not know if you’re going to be here tomorrow or next year, but even if you are you can not create the tomorrow of your dreams if you are not living today to the utmost degree.

Your today’s create your tomorrows. You have to be exceptional today, if you want to be a winner tomorrow. A lot of people forget this. Hence they just continue to delay their happiness and such for the future and think one day they’re just going to wake up and everything is going to be great. Unfortunately this is not how it works. In order to be great tomorrow, you have to be great today.

2. Take Care Of The Small Things

“We got to finish the deal. And how do we do that? By doing the little things correctly.”

When it comes to life people tend to overlook the small things. The small things will actually become the big things later on and when you realize that it may be too late. However if you want to accomplish big things in life it’s important to take care of the small things. The small things make up the big things so make sure you’re taking care of business.

The small things when it comes to chasing your dreams include things such as your mindset, your beliefs, your attitude etc. These things may not seem important, however these small things will either make you or break you so it’s important you have them work for you and not against you.

3. Don’t Blow Your Chances

“With each game I play, each season I play, everyone would agree with me, I’m running out of chances.”

It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old. This is the mindset you should adopt. Don’t think you will be given chance after chance. Therefore you need to learn how to take advantage and exploit the chances that you are given.

The next time you are presented with an opportunity say to yourself…

This may be the last opportunity I am ever granted and my success depends on this so LETS GO AND SEIZE THIS and make my dreams a reality (or at least get one step closer).

For those of you who don’t know, Vince Lombardi was a NFL coach. In my opinion he spoke some of the most inspirational words I have ever heard.

Below are some of my favorite quotes from Vince.

When you’re reading the quotes you’re probably going to feel motivated, the key is to take advantage of this. Don’t just read. Make sure you apply what the quote is stressing and most importantly take action.

1. I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.

When you were reading this quote you probably formed an image in your mind of what it looks like to be fully exhausted and stretched out on the floor filled with pride after you have achieved whatever it is you wanted to achieve. Well the next thing you need to do is treat each day as if it’s championship day. Each and everyday you should strive to go all out for your dreams to the point where when you end the day you are filled with EXTREME exhaustion. If you’re not tired when darkness falls, you didn’t go hard enough. Give it everything you have. Treat each day as if today is the day you are chosen to prove that you have what it takes to make your dreams a reality.

2. Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.

A lot of people fall into this trap. They believe that if they simply work hard they will become successful. After all one of the most common success tip a successful person shares is you have to work hard. This is true, however working smart is just as important if not more important. You have to make sure that you’re working hard on the right things. Work hard on things that will get you closer to your dreams. Work hard on things that truly matter. Don’t just go in circles.

3. Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all time thing. You don’t win once in a while, you don’t do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

Either you possess the winners mentality or the losers. Winning is a habit. That is the most important thing from the quote above. It’s your job to make it a habit. The only way you go about making something a habit is by repetition so keep at it. Keep winning. You were born to grind and destined to shine.

By making winning a habit you’ll become accustomed to it that it’ll be hard NOT TO win. Trust me.

4. Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

A lot of people say that you shouldn’t strive to be perfect…usually these people are the unsuccessful.

If you examine the successful you will realize that a large percentage of them are perfectionist. By abiding by this they achieve greatness.

Take the late Steve Jobs for example. This man embodied the definition of a perfectionist. He made sure that every thing associated with Apple was as perfect as possible. Heck he even made sure the design work on the inside of the iPhone’s was top notch. That’s right, THE INSIDE. No one ever looks at the inside, but that doesn’t matter because this same perfectionist mentality is what led Apple to the top of the world.

What this means is that you need to stop giving half assed efforts. Stop doing a mediocre job. Be the best at it. Every little detail counts. Don’t slack off towards the end like many do.

5. The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

As long as you chase your dreams with persistence, work hard, dedicate yourself, and give it everything you have, you will be just fine in life and you’ll sleep easy at night.

6. Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.

As you can see the formation of habits was a big thing for Vince. He always stated that you need to form habits such as the habit of winning, however at the same time you need to avoid certain habits  such as the habit to quit. Quitting becomes a habit very easily.

Never quit at something that you want. When you quit you will form a habit. This isn’t just true for professional matters, but personal matters as well. If you quit in personal matters this habit will begin to form and it will poke its ugly head into your professional matters as well. So refuse to quit.

7. The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.

Do you want to have a great life? Do you want to have a memorable life? Do you want to leave a legacy?

Yes, you say?

Well the way to make this happen is by being excellent. So with that stated, BE EXCELLENT. Make a pledge right this second that you’re going to be excellent from this day on. Everything that your name is associated with is going to EMBODY the definition of excellence.
