Sometimes when we are pursuing success, we get so consumed that we begin to forget about some important things. Our vision gets blurred and as a result we end up taking a wrong turn or two on the road to success.
So if you find yourself to be down and out and you feel like giving it all up, below are some tips that will hopefully get you thinking clearly again.
1. Don’t forget about why you started
If things are tough and you feel like giving it up, don’t forget about why you started.
Let your WHY fuel you.
Success is a test. It’s only reserved for those who are willing to endure the turmoil. So let your reasons for pursuing your dreams guide you through the negativity and adversity that is currently on your plate.
2. Don’t forget about the people who are depending on you
When you succeed, not only does your life improve dramatically…but the life of your loved ones improves as well.
I’m sure you want your family to have the world so grind like you want to give them the world. Never stop. Don’t retreat. Put your fist up in the air and continue to fight.
Fight for those who believe in you. Fight for those who look up to you. Fight for those who took a chance on you.
If you think no one believes in you, then fight for yourself. Fight for your life. Fight to prove everyone wrong. If you give up, they’ll be right. Their opinions on how you would never do what you set out to do will come true. You can’t let this happen. Fight for your dreams.
After all, it’s one of the biggest fights of your life.
How are you going to be able to look yourself in the mirror if you give in and let the world defeat you?
It’s going to be very tough to do so keep the fight alive.
3. Don’t forget about the sweet taste of success
Think about how great it’s going to feel to wake up and say…
“Damn, I’m living the dream.”
4. You are great. You’re not mediocre. If you stop, you’ll become one of them when you had the potential to become the best you.
Keep going and you will continue the march towards greatness.
Stop and you will take a turn which shall lead you to mediocrity.
A normal life is boring.
Why would you want to live a normal life?
There is no excitement in living a normal life, there is no bang. It’s boring, very dull.
Will you be content with doing the same mediocre tasks, day in and day out? I bet not. So let the thought of greatness inspire you and take you to new heights.
The only person that can make you great is yourself and ironically the only person that can stop you from achieving greatness is also yourself so get out of your own way.
5. If you stop, you’ll feel pain for the rest of your life
If you give up on your dreams, the pain will be overwhelming. It will take the color out of your life.
If you stop pursuing your dreams, you’ll just be waiting to die.
Dreams give life, meaning. Dreams give you a purpose so don’t let the light die. Don’t let your dreams die.
Do you know those people who are cold and hostile towards everything? Well those people once had dreams too, however somewhere down the line they thought the pain was too much to bear hence they threw in the white towel. However, now that pain follows them everywhere they go because when they called it quits, they called it quits on their life as well. When you give up on your dreams, it’s like committing suicide. You’re giving up on life too. Now, you won’t die in the physical sense, but something will die within you. A piece of you will be missing and you will never get it back so in order to avoid this feeling, keep going.
You may be thinking, it’s easier said than done. It’s tough to get back up and start again. That’s true indeed.
Hence I direct your attention towards my last crucial point…
6. You were once filled with passion and excitement. You were once eager to take the world by storm. Return back to this state.
Get the fire back in your step again.
Remember when you were a child and you had big dreams regarding your future?
How you were going to conquer the world and change it?
How you were going to transform your life and become a huge success story?
Well, become a child again. Start seeing the world through the eyes of a kid.
Don’t let them tell you can’t. When you were a child, the possibilities were endless; there was nothing you couldn’t do. Return back to this state.
A life lived with a ceiling is a life wasted so let go of your limits. Forget about what they said you can and can’t do, give them the middle finger. After you do, get back on your feet and become who you set out to be.
I end this article with a quote. If none of the words above had an affect on you, hopefully these words by Tupac do…
