Good habits are the key to success because we humans are creatures of habit.
Hence if we begin to engage in certain habits, it’s human nature to repeat them and if these habits are constructive habits, you will continue to progress in life and will eventually reach success.
Simple as that.
As a child you were a slave to your impulses. Remember that? Children are easily swayed and their actions are a result of impulses, not habits.
However as you gradually age, your actions are a result of your habits.
Think about it. Chances are you do the same things every day. These are habits. These habits give rise to the actions that you take and that is why you participate in the same events day in and day out. There’s nothing wrong with this, however you need to understand the importance behind this principle.
Your habits create your actions and your actions determine your future.
Therefore the habits that you currently possess have already marked out a path for your future. Your future is already set. If you currently have good habits, you are on your way to success.
On the other hand, if you have negative habits, your future is going to be dark and gloomy.
However you can make a change. This is what I primarily want to stress in this article.
You can change the outcome of tomorrow by adjusting your habits, today.
You know yourself better than anybody else and hence you are probably aware of the habits that you possess. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
A simple question to ask yourself is the following, is this habit going to get me closer to success or move me farther away?
So with that stated, I want you to get out a sheet of paper and write down your habits. Next to your habits I want you to answer the question above.
After you have done this, you will get a clear picture of what your future holds.
If you have a lot of negative tendencies jotted down on your paper, YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND MAKE SOME CHANGES.
Time is ticking.
If you don’t change now, it’s going to be very difficult to achieve your dreams.
This is a very high price to pay. So I encourage you to muster up the strength to form new habits.
This isn’t as hard as it seems.
All you need to do is stick with a new line of action for thirty days.
After you repeat an action for thirty days straight, it will become a habit. This is a fact.
So now what I want you to do is to write down 5 CONSTRUCTIVE habits that you want to adopt.
For instance, one of your new habits might be the following, “I want to read one book a week.”
The next step is to devote a month to ensure that this action becomes a habit. So what you need to do is, read on a daily. Don’t miss a single day. If you miss a day, you ruin the process and its likely that your new course of action will not become a habit. So it’s very important that you’re consistent and you stay on top of things.
After that month is up, the next month should be devoted to a new habit and so on and so on.
You’ll notice that after the thirty days, you’ll automatically be drawn to pick up a book each and every day.
This is some really powerful stuff.
So you need to use it.
The best way to make use of this is by writing down a list of the most powerful habits that you can possibly think of and then turn those habits into actions that you intend to take for thirty straight days. After these thirty days, a new habit will be created.
You can truly change the direction of your future by creating new habits so I highly advise you make use of this exercise.
Today is a new day. Today is a new beginning. Today you are born anew.
Your decisions today, determine the quality of your tomorrow.
So with that stated, make use of today.
This article was intended to solely serve as a wake up call for those that have characterized their life with a bunch of bad habits.
